Trump Makes HUGE Announcement about Ted Cruz’s Eligibility!

Ted Cruz was born in Canada. But to American parents. Does that make him ineligible for President?

We don’t know for sure, but Donald Trump is urging caution.

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem. It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

He added: “I’d hate to see something like that get in his way. But a lot of people are talking about it.”

Read more about it here.

I don’t know about this. I think that Cruz is eligible. But it wouldn’t shock me for the left and the media to capitalize on this.

Also, it is curious that Trump is just now bringing this up when Cruz is starting to come close to him in the polls.

Maybe Trump is just trying to take down an opponent?

Now Watch This: Trump also raised issues with Obama’s birth certificate

Share your thoughts: Is Trump just scared of Cruz? Or is he onto something?

  1. SK Lew says:

Of course he is eligible, If you have American Parents no matter where you are born that child is an American Citizen. I know this for a fact because one of my children was born in the Philippines and is in fact an American Citizen with a certificate from the American Embassy issued a Government form for American Citizen born Overseas or out of country. It is in fact the Legal Birth Certificate for her and the one she needs for Passports etc…

First, let’s get Cruz’s eligibility out of the way, so I’m not questioned about it. Cruz is not eligible to be Potus or Vice Potus.

Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution provides, in pertinent part (emphasis added):

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The three requirements for Potus are: “natural born Citizen”; age 35; resident of U.S. for 14 years.

Vattel’s, Law of Nations, was given to Benjamin Franklin and used to incorporate Natural Born Citizen into the Constitution. The preceding link to Vattel states, “The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens.” Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, and most likely Santorum, are not eligible. Rubio and Jindal are anchor babies according to the misinterpreted 14th Amendment. Senator Jacob Howard, who introduced the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause, said its grant of citizenship would not include persons born in the United States who are foreigners or aliens. 2. David says:

Never forget that Joe Arpairo has submitted 12 challenges to obam’s validity to hold office and each time a LIBERAL JUDGE has thrown it out, that does not make it untrue, only prevents Joe from going in front of the courts to present his exceptionally strong evidence of document tampering by King Obammie.

  3. David says:

THIS WILL BE A NON ISSUE; think about the fraud the liberals have elected twice; it is settled law now anyone can be President, obammie set the precedent and believe me if the liberal/leftwing nuts go there obam the imam can still be declared ineligible and tried for treason.

  4. Ted says:

trump knows the answer to the question but was subtile in his response forcing the party to vette Cruz, the party will find out that CRUZ CAN BE VP NOT PREZ.SO the donald is right again- leaving Cruz to party up with donald bringing his backers with him giving trump 60 percent or more once the same thing happens to rubio–donald one smart SOB !! YOU BETCHA

    1. SK Lew says:

Cruz is eligible for President as anyone who is an American Citizen with American Parents. Do your research before making a false statement.

  5. Michael says:

Interesting article from the Harvard Law Review Forum regard the term “Natural-Born Citizen. Full article .The following is from the article and specifically mentions Senator Ted Cruz and his eligibility for the office of President of the United States.

While the field of candidates for the next presidential election is still taking shape, at least one potential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz, was born in a Canadian hospital to a U.S. citizen mother.15×

Despite the happenstance of a birth across the border, there is no question that Senator Cruz has been a citizen from birth and is thus a “natural born Citizen” within the meaning of the Constitution. Indeed, because his father had also been resident in the United States, Senator Cruz would have been a “natural born Citizen” even under the Naturalization Act of 1790.

  6. Fred says:

Tragically Cruz Is NOT Eligible to Serve as U. S. President..

Cruz is Not a Child of Citizen “Parents” thats 2…..Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father.

Naturalized Citizens and dual citizens aren’t eligible for POTUS..or VP.

.Every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of “parents” not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of U.S. Constitution as adopted 17 September 1787:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States..

    Article II Facts : http://www.art2superpac.com/issues.html

When the Founders inserted the words “natural born Citizen” in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution, as a principal qualification for those who wished to serve as president of the United States, it was their intention that all those born with any taint of foreign allegiance should be barred from the presidency and the vice presidency. Hence, the term “natural born Citizen.”

Under the 14th Amendment, all those born in the United States to American citizen parents, as well as those born to foreign nationals or parents of mixed nationality, are “citizens at birth.”

In other words, all “natural born” citizens are “citizens at birth,” but not all “citizens at birth” are “natural born.”

  7. Frank says:

Just as Obama, neither Cruz nor Rubio are qualified to be president. All three are citizens by birth because their mothers are US citizens; but they are not “natural born citizens” because at the time of their birth, their fathers were Citizens of foreign countries. A natural born citizen is one whose both parents are US Citizens.

At the time of our Founding much of our law was patterned on British law that held that birth citizenship could not be voluntarily repudiated even if the individual took an oath to renounce their birth citizenship in order to establish citizenship elsewhere.

The Founders specified “natural born citizen” to assure no foreign influence as is natural when an offspring has a foreign-national father.

Obviously no one enforced the requirement on Obama whose father never had any intention of becoming an American citizen or remaining in America. It is equally obvious that Obama has neither understanding or respect for American principles. In Dreams From My Father, Obama makes it clear that he was strongly influenced by the Socialist dogma of his birth father.

I am amazed at the simple and concice way you explained this fact of life here in our Nation. I asked to friend you on facebook, you sir are a genius at explaining the obvious.

    2. SK Lew says:

Sir, you are giving false information. Do your research. If a child of An American is born out of country they are still an American Citizen eligible for all rights and benefits of an American Citizen and eligible to run for any Office in the United States.

    3. Frank – you are correct. My reply to SK provides a link with numerous sources and references.

On the topic- I would not vote for Cruz if he WAS eligible. He is a siimy neocon snake.
