Donald Trump’s campaign was rocked last week when audio was leaked from 2005 showing lewd comments he made in what was believed to be a private conversation. Dozens of Republican governors and congressmen who endorsed The Donald withdrew their endorsements shortly after, with Paul Ryan being the most notable.
While most Republican voters don’t believe that Republican leadership should be jumping ship on Trump, you have to admit that it at least shows principle. How many Democrats have distanced themselves from Hillary Clinton for her scandals, which are worse in both volume and severity? Zero.
Is this controversy from this leak finally behind us, or is another coming? That all depends…
“I have interviewed Donald Trump many times and been with him many times, and I have tapes,” Rivera said on special edition of Fox News’ “The Five” Sunday. “My brother and I have been starting to go through the tapes now and there are statements that, in the context of the current climate, would be embarrassing.”
The Fox News commentator isn’t the first to raise the possibility of the existence of more compromising recordings. A day after the Washington Post released the 2005 video, audio from a Howard Stern interview surfaced of the business mogul detailing Ivanka’s “voluptuous” curves, his sex life, and his lewd behavior during his ownership of the Miss Universe pageant.
After claiming he had damaging tapes of Trump, Geraldo suddenly backtracked and issued an apology to the Republican, saying no such tapes actually exist.
