On Wednesday night, NBC hosted the Commander-In-Chief Forum with two Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Clinton was on stage during the first half hour while Trump took the second part of the hour. One of the questions from moderator Matt Lauer dealt with the secret intel briefings these candidates get to slowly move them into the loop of knowledge if they are elected Commander-In-Chief.
I was very shocked at the question by Lauer as he knows the information at these meetings are secret. I saw this probably as a “gotcha” question and I was holding my breath that Trump wouldn’t say anything that would get him into trouble. But, listening to Trump describe what he heard, the country, even the world heard that Barack Obama had basically discarded some of the best intel to take care of ISIS.
Donald Trump said Wednesday that he was “shocked” at some of the things he learned in the two intelligence briefings he has received — primarily that “our leaders did not follow what they were recommending.”
“What I did learn is that our leadership, Barack Obama, did not follow what our experts said to do,” the Republican presidential nominee told NBC’s Matt Lauer on a “Commander-in-Chief Forum” broadcast on both NBC and MSNBC. The town hall session in New York was with current and former members of the military.
“I was very, very surprised. In almost every instance,” he said.
“I could tell — pretty good with the body language — that they were not happy,” Trump said. “Our leaders did not follow what they were recommending.”
Both Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton began receiving intelligence briefings from top U.S. officials last month. Trump’s sessions have been held at Trump Tower in New York City.
When Lauer asked Trump Wednesday whether he had learned anything in those briefings that “shock or alarm you,” the nominee responded, “yes, very much so.
“First of all, I have great respect for the people who gave us the briefings. They were terrific people. Experts on Iraq and Iran … and Russia.
“But, yes, there was one thing that shocked me,” he continued. “It just seems to me that what they said was that President [Barack] Obama and Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, who is another total disaster, did exactly the opposite.”

For decades, every president has attended a “daily intelligence briefing” which updates him on critical world events. Obama has skipped 60% of his daily intelligence briefings, including the ones leading up to the attack in Benghazi.
Just remember, a real leader takes all recommendations from all sides and determines the best solution or remedy, a dictator listens to no one. You can best believe Trump will take all recommendations to develop a concrete solution as he did in business and became successful.
Do you think Trump went too far with blasting Obama for not following the advice of the generals on ISIS? Did he give away secret information or was he well within his right to criticize Obama? Share your comments below and let me know what you think.
