Donald Trump rallies are weak and feeble like Bernie Sanders, where members of Black Lives Matter can disrupt the speaker and take over the microphone, that won’t happen at a Trump rally, and he’s even said as much.
I have watched many of Trump’s speeches at various venues and have yet to see him incite people to use violence as a means to channel their frustration about what’s going on in this country. Trump usually speaks to his crowds in a fun yet informative way including laughter and truth to power.
Last night during the debate, CNN Moderator Jake Tapper brought up an incident that happened the other day where an elderly white man punched a disruptive black kid in the mouth as the youth was being removed from the facility. As for myself I do not condone violence at rallies and what the man did was wrong, but that had nothing to do with Trump or any direction given by Trump.
From The Hill:
Anchor Jake Tapper asked Trump if he had encouraged that behavior by the tone he sets at the rallies.
“I hope not, I truly hope not,” Trump said. “We have 25,000 or 35,000 people who come with tremendous passion and love for this country … and they have anger that’s unbelievable. They love this country and they don’t like seeing bad trade deals, higher taxes, they don’t like seeing their jobs devastated. I see it. There’s anger, there’s also great love for their country. But I certainly do not condone that at all.”
Tapper pressed Trump, noting that at some rallies, Trump has said he’d like to punch a protester in the face, encouraged a protester be “ripped from their seat” and said he’d pay for the legal fees if the crowd piled on.
Trump responded by warning that some of the protesters are dangerous.
“We have some protesters who are bad dudes,” Trump said. “They have done bad things and they are really dangerous and get in there and start hitting people, and we had a couple big, strong, powerful guys doing damage to people. … It’s usually the police, the municipal government because I don’t have guards all over these stadiums. I mean, we fill up stadiums. “
Anything the media can do to take Trump down at this point has to be seen as just that, attempts. Trump is moving along at a great clip on the TrumpTrain and his message is loud and clear, “Let’s make America great again!” Yes, it’s hard to think some don’t like that catch phrase but those people are easy to spot and easier to avoid.
