It’s the U.S. Navy’s Birthday!

This week in 1775 (October 13th, to be exact) the Continental Congress of America established what was then known as the Continental Navy of the United States.

At that time, it had roughly 50 ships in a fleet to defend the East Coast. Then when that was disbanded after the Revolutionary War, the Navy was created by the Navy Act of 1794.

Happy Birthday to the United States Navy! Thank you to the brave men and women who keep our nation safe.
