Freedom of speech! We still have a Constitution and amendments! America, what is happening?!
Former boxing champ Manny Pacquiao was on his way to a California shopping mall called The Grove when he was stopped and shown the door by the mall’s owner Rick Caruso.
Pacquiao was escorted from inside the mall because of remarks he made about homosexuals. Pacquiao is a Christian, who doesn’t believe in the sexual practices of man/man and woman/woman. For that, I understand and support his decision. But let’s not kid ourselves, the LGBT community seeks to punish and discipline those who do not support their sexual acts or publicly disagree with them.
I am not in the realm of “it’s ok,” as it is not my belief. However, I do not go around blasting those who engage in that practice and neither does the former champ. The ban comes one month after the boxer appeared to compare gay people to animals in an interview with a television station.
According to Gistaszone:
Professional boxer-turned-Philippine politician Manny Pacquiao has been banned from entering Los Angeles’ shopping mall The Grove yet again for his previous homophobic remarks.
As reported on PEP News, the mall’s owner Rick Caruso announced the decision recently, saying that a lot of people from the gay community are frequent visitors of the mall, and have the right to feel uncomfortable.
“[Therefore], Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome,” he said.
Last month, the boxer angered the LGBT community and its supporters over his statement that gay people are worse than animals. Although he later apologised, it seemed that the damage has already been done.
But this isn’t the first time Pacquiao was banned from The Grove. Back in 2012, he was banned from the mall for quoting the Leviticus passage that says homosexuals should be put to death.
Caruso stated, “Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future.
Manny was just speaking common sense, speaking a simple truth. He still has the right to his opinion. He’s not shouting “FIRE!” in a crowded theater, getting in anyone’s face, or stalking someone. But next thing you know saying something that makes a “minority” — which nowadays means about 75% of the population — “uncomfortable” will be a criminal offense.
Meanwhile “minorities” can say anything they want about straights, whites, men or Christians and nobody’s supposed to bat an eyelash. Is this absurd or what?
What is this world coming too? Do you think Pacquiao should have been banned from the shopping mall because of his choice of words? Let us know in the comment section (below) and share this story on your Twitter and Facebook timeline.
