DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz is known for a wide array of absurd comments, but she may have outdone herself this time.
During a round-table discussion on women’s issues in Milwaukee, the Florida Congresswoman said that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker “give(s) women the back of his hand” and that he and his Tea Party colleagues “are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back.”
Via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz ripped into Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s record Wednesday during a round-table discussion on women’s issues at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
The Florida congresswoman said: “Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. I know that is reality.”
Wasserman Schultz added: “What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.”
Wasserman Schultz took umbrage with Walker’s opposition to increasing the minimum wage, as well as a bill that prevents perceived employment discrimination from being litigated in state court. Two issues that are not defined as more beneficial to one sex or the other.
We’re sure to see plenty of media coverage of this over the next few days … Right?
The God damn *Chair* of the DNC just accused a sitting Governor of physical abuse of women. Guess how much media attention it will get?

We’re not holding our breath.
One has to wonder though, how women who have actually been physically abused and beaten by men feel about these statements.
