It’s not often we get to prop up Bill Maher as a voice of reason, but the ‘comedian’ took some incredible shots at politically correct liberals, calling the far-left crowd “deeply stupid” and then tearing into Media Matters by telling them to “shut the f*** up.”
Maher was attacking two points of contention that liberals seem willing to fall on a politically correct sword over – Dolce & Gabbana’s comments on traditional marriage and ‘synthetic babies,’ and a recent cover of the Economist that dared to have a photo of chili peppers on a report of American Latinos.
Maher stated during his closing segment that “we joke about everybody here… something a lot of liberals have forgotten how to do.”
He addressed the Dolce & Gabbana controversy by asking “What is the point of attacking people who are 95 percent on your side?”
“In Syria, ISIS is throwing gay people off buildings,” he added. “Maybe there are bigger battles to fight.”
As for the Economist cover, Maher pointed out that Media Matters attacked it as “a tired trope often used to confine the Hispanic community to oversimplified representation in the media.”
To which he responded, “Hey Media Matters … Shut the f*** up.”
Watch the segment below…
Make no mistake, Maher continues going after ‘crazies on the right’ during the segment as well, but he certainly has a point when it comes to political correctness on the far-left.
