Jack Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, appeared on CNN’s Sunday show Reliable Sources, and proceeded to destroy the host and network for their ridiculous assertion that global warming is ‘settled science.’
Via the Heartland Institute:
Weather Channel Founder John Coleman caused quite a stir with his open letter demanding UCLA’s Hammer Museum bring balance to a climate presentation highlighted by Michael Mann. That letter led to this appearance Monday on “The Kelly File” on Fox News, which led to a spot on “Coast to Coast AM,” which lead to CNN’s “Reliable Sources” asking Coleman to come on the program, which aired today.
Host Brian Stelter thinks the story is how The Weather Channel “is distancing itself” from Coleman’s science-based skepticism of man-caused, catastrophic global warming. The real story is how Coleman dominated his segment on “Reliable Sources,” scolding CNN for not putting on skeptic scientists who could explain, for instance, that global warming has stopped for 18 years, and why the “97 percent consensus” is bunk.
From the onset of the interview, Coleman refused to accept the narrative that was being pushed on him in the moment – the same narrative that has been forced upon the public for many years.
After his introduction, Coleman immediately corrects Stelter on two counts – one, that he is not a ‘climate denier’ he is simply a skeptic based on the science, and referring to people as deniers is meant to demean their position. And two, Stelter labeled him as a co-founder of the Weather Channel, to which Coleman explained he is the sole founder, adding that the man currently at the helm of the Weather Channel isn’t even a scientist.
That’s when the CNN host tried to interrupt, but Coleman would have none of that saying “I’m not done.”
He continued on, explaining that there is actually another side of the story when it comes to global warming.
“Climate change is not happening,” he asserted. “There is no significant man-made global warming now, there hasn’t been any in the past, and there is no reason to expect any in the future. There’s a whole lot of baloney, and yes, it has become a big political point of the Democratic Party and part of their platform. And I regret that it has become political instead of scientific, but the science is on my side.”
Coleman was relentless as Stelter tried steering the conversation back to the supposed claim that scientists have concluded global warming is indeed real.
Stelter at one point stated, we’re not “going to come to a conclusion about the topic right here.”
To which Coleman responded, “Oh I know we’re not, because you would’t allow it to happen on CNN.”
Coleman then cheerily announced, “Hello everybody, there is no global warming.”
At another point, Stelter proclaimed that “I’m not a scientist, so I’m not going to try to refute you.”
Coleman responds, “Boy, that’s the truth.”
He then took some shots at the station he founded, saying the Weather Channel drank the Kool-Aid on global warming, and referred to their on-air experts as “nuts.”
Watch the entire interview below, it’s a doozy. Then tell us what you think – Is Jack Coleman right when he says global warming isn’t real?
