The urge to protect your children comes as second nature, but this Florida mother took things too far.
When her daughter was allegedly bullied by an 11-year-old fifth-grader, she decided to take matters into her hands and teach him a lesson about disrespecting girls. Now, she’s been taught a lesson by the Boca Raton Police Department.
Shakella Quinn, 27, was infuriated to learn that her daughter — whose age has not been released — had gotten into a heated argument with an 11-year-old boy at a local playground, and decided to take matters into her hands.
A group of young boys who witnessed the shocking incident reportedly told police Quinn came out of her apartment with a knife and began chasing the young boy. It didn’t take long before onlookers gathered to witness the incident unfold. The Sun Sentinel reports that approximately 50 people were at the scene by the time police arrived.
An unidentified woman allegedly took the initiative to intervene by insisting that the boy go inside her apartment. She told Quinn that she planned to call the police. Quinn did state she admits to confronting the boy, however, she denies ever having a knife.
Quinn’s denial did nothing to stop her from being arrested. The combative mom was hauled off kicking and screaming hysterically about how she refuses to go to jail. Quinn is now facing charges for aggravated assault and obstruction of an officer without violence. Her bail is set at $25,000.
