Woman Posts About ‘Happy’ Song on Facebook Seconds Before Fatal Crash

Investigators say 32-year-old Courtney Ann Sanford from North Carolina crossed a median and crashed head-on into a truck. The truck was run off the road and hit a tree but the gentleman in the car was not injured. Investigators believe Ms. Sanford was posting to Facebook only seconds before she crashed and died.

Ironically her post read: The happy song makes me HAPPY!”

“The Facebook text happened at 8:33 a.m. We got the call on the wreck at 8:34 a.m.,” explains Lt. Chris Weisner, with the High Point Police Department. “In a matter of seconds, a life was over just so she could notify some friends that she was happy.”

As sad as it is, it is a grim reminder for everyone… you just have to pay attention while you are in the car,” reminds Weisner.

When looking at her social media activity for the day, investigators discovered that she was also posting selfies as she drove down the road. Sanford was wearing a seat belt, but it was not being used properly, investigators said.

Courtney Ann  collided into a truck, which caused the truck to run off the road and hit a tree, however the gentleman in the car was not injured.

It’s on the internet so it must be true. Like the guy texting and running into the back of a semi. They said they found his head in the back seat, of a Corvette. Uh, they don’t have back seats. Still, not a good idea.

    A few things.

    1) This happened earlier in the year and this story had been run into the ground.
    2) It was discovered later she did not make this post while diving but before she got out of her driveway. Instead they belive something fell in the floor and either got caught or she tried to move it. I understand they are trying to make a point out of this because the cops rushed to judgment and make a mistake when this accident happened but at some point they need to stop making people believe this actually happened.
    3) It is easy to say horrible things behind the computer if you do not know her. Have fun judging other people in this life. After this life you will be judged on how you treat others and this will not help.

Heed this cautionary tale lest you become one.

  4. Paul says:

Sadly for some people texting, posting, and taking pictures is in their habits. While alive they will continue the habit probably right up to the very end. These people are living on borrowed time and they are sharing the road with you. So beware and don’t let them crash into you.

  5. Gordon says:

Thank God she only killed herself! 32 years old and acting half her age. Every day I am amazed at the ignorance of people.
