World’s 4th Largest Lake Just Dried Up…What Was Left Behind Will Amaze You!

Ship

This might be the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time! The Aral Sea, which used to be one of the four largest lakes in the world, has been quickly shrinking since the 1960s and has reveled some amazing things at the bottom!

From The Vintage News:

Formerly one of the four largest lakes in the world with an area of 68,000 km2(26,300 sq mi), the Aral Sea has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s after the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet irrigation projects. By 2007, it had declined to 10% of its original size.

The Aral Sea formed about 5.5 million years ago due to a fall in sea level and the uplift of the Elburz and Caucasus Mountains. The shrinking of the Aral Sea has been called “one of the planet’s worst environmental disasters”. The region’s once-prosperous fishing industry has been essentially destroyed, bringing unemployment and economic hardship. The Aral Sea region is also heavily polluted, with consequential serious public health problems.

This is very disturbing. This is what happens when politicians play with nature. They end up turning everything upside down. I’m sure God never intended this to happen. Imagine having a natural lake disappear, and nothing in its place. The whole community, which depended on its livelihood from this lake, now has nothing to draw from it. There should have been a law on the books prohibiting such a disaster from happening. I pray that God will restore it to its full depth, and width, so that the community can thrive once again.
