If you live in a major city, you are probably familiar with Uber, the e-hail service which allows you to call a cab at any time using your smart phone.
Of course, not everyone loves this new cab service … mainly the traditional cabs that have monopolized the industry in cities across the world.
And one of these traditional cab drivers in Ontario, Canada was not pleased when he saw a customer getting into a Uber car.
In a video which was going viral on YouTube, until it was taken down this weekend, the unidentified cabbie calls the customer a “cheapskate,” and orders him to “take a real cab next time.”
I managed to find a copy of the video, but it does contain profanity and may be offensive:
And the irate cab driver saved some of his rage for the Uber driver too, urging him to get out of his car and “talk to me like a man.”
Canadian police have now opened an investigation.
This is just one in a series of incidents worldwide in which the upstart company has been attacked by traditional cab drivers. In socialism-loving France, two Uber executives were arrested having been accused of violating some stupid law.
What do you think of the cabbies’ attempts to shut down Uber? Let us know below.
